Cultivation
Claytonia plants should be placed in partial shade approximately 6 inches apart. It enjoys a pH between 6.5 and 7.0.
Starting from Seed
Starting indoors and then transplanting is not recommended. Direct sow in the garden 0.250 inches deep 4 weeks before the last frost.
To print a schedule of when to start seeds indoors, when to move outside, and when to direct sow, go to Browse and select the plants you are interested in. Then go to the Planting Schedule.
Seed Saving
Claytonia can be sown indoors in the late fall or early winter for indoor growing.
