Cultivation
Corn plants should be placed in full sun approximately 8 inches apart. It enjoys a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Amend the soil so that it has plenty of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K).
Starting from Seed
Starting indoors and then transplanting is not recommended. Direct sow in the garden 1.000 inches deep 7 days after the last frost.
To print a schedule of when to start seeds indoors, when to move outside, and when to direct sow, go to Browse and select the plants you are interested in. Then go to the Planting Schedule.
Seed Saving
Isolate plants by 600 feet for home use. For total purity isolate by 1 miles. Corn is wind pollinated. Save at least 500 seeds from at least 10% of the plants to maintain vigor and genetic diversity of the variety.
