Fruit flowers

It was 34F when we woke up this morning, but a couple of days ago I walked around snapping some photos of fruit blossoms here at Palazzo Rospo. Above are apple blossoms.

Cherry

Strawberry

Peach. This one cracks me up. We planted the peach tree in the fall, and it's just a stick with a few leaf buds and this one brave flower. Ambitious!

Beautiful. Is that a real eatin' cherry or an ornamental?

That is my one gardening regret... real cherries won't set fruit down here.

I could eat my weight in them.

I love photos of spring flowers. Everything still has all of its potential this time of year. Come August and real exhaustion has set in.

That there is a real eatin' cherry, FC. It's a sour one, though, so better for pies than for snacking. We planted two sweet cherry trees this fall, and can expect fruit in a couple of years.

I know just what you mean, Pablo. Spring holds promise, and August is so .. well, tired. You said it perfectly.
