Don King, eat your heart out
Well we had a cold snap and the flycatcher spent more time on her nest. We were relieved to see her spending time there because we thought she'd abandoned it due to the high traffic (human and canine) in the immediate area. This morning, we saw this little guy perched on an old brick on the back porch immediately beneath the nest. He was very still and very quiet. I was surprised to see him so big and well feathered. I've been listening for hungry peeps from the nest and haven't heard anything. I don't know if the other eggs have hatched or not. I don't want to mess with the nest or get too close right now.

What a cutie! I hope some of the other eggs hatched too.
Eggs? ...wait, that reminds me of something...hmmm, something egg shaped, but bigger...hmmm, what was that?
Oh yeah, I remember...
I picked my first tomatoes today!
I think all the fresh blueberries I'm picking must be affecting my memory.
...or maybe it's all the squash.
...or the bellpeppers.
This is certainly a testament to mother love. I mean, how could anything but a mother (or a forgetful person) love a mug like that? Nice photo.
Not fair, floridacracker!
More eggs DID hatch. There are at least 3 little heads still bobbing around up in the nest. Yesterday they were doing their little "My mouth is wide open please FEED ME" trick. It was great to watch.
FC, I set my tomatoes and peppers out this weekend! And I have itty bitty winter squash plants and I planted crooknecks but they haven't sprouted yet...
Pablo, a forgetful person! Ha! I thought he was kinda cute. Wonder what that says about me... oh! something shiny!
