Tiny Egg

Come on, Sesame Street fans, sing with me!

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things doesn't belong
Can you guess which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

One of the hens laid a teeny tiny egg the other day. I cracked it open and there was the tiniest bit of egg yolk inside. Not a completely formed yolk, but a bit. It was surrounded by egg white and everything. I cracked it into a small bowl that we usually use for an individual serving of fruit, applesauce, or peas at dinner time.

That looks like the teeny, tiny eggs laid by my Serama hen! Do you know what kind of hen laid that egg? Is it a bantam?

Caroline, all my hens are speckled sussex so should be laying "normal" sized eggs. They're just beginning to lay, though, so this one probably is getting some kinks worked out :)

Oh! I love the wind eggs!! I save them when ever I find one (which is not often)...but I have a collection of about 5 in various sizes....

Shannon, I hadn't heard the term "wind egg" - thanks for letting me know.

Cyndy, you save them? I went and broke my wind egg :(

Hmm. That doesn't sound right.
