Scenic View

One of the things I love about West Virginia is the natural beauty of the state.

This is a view from a drive we take occasionally, headed west on Hwy 47 into Smithville. The new metal barn, the well tended pastures and fence, the cemetery behind the barn, and the church off on the hill always make me feel peaceful.

As always, you can click on the photo for a larger view.

I almost found myself living in Califorina Pines in northern california, put $5,000 down on a parcel of land that was $20,000 at the time back in 2003. Well, that didn't happen, my sister backed out of the deal she was interested in. I felt real bad about the whole thing, I was really looking forward to a completely different life style. But without other family members wanting to be a part of it, I backed out too. I wouldn't do that today, forget them, they can move where ever the heck they want. I have my own life with my husband of 25 years, and next time I consider any big move, I won't consider them at all.

It's surprising how difficult it can be to leave the familiar for the unknown. We very much wanted this move, yet we had countless discussions about "Are we insane?" "Do we know what we're getting into?" and so on.

I must say, a person can analize anything, and everything, until they talk themselves right out of it. "I'm good at that", it takes a lot of courage to leave the familiar, and venture out into the unknown,"you did it". Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
