Spring Snow

After almost a week of 70F degree weather, we had a couple of nights in the low to mid 30s with snow showers. It didn't stick around, of course, but it was sure pretty.

We've got days in the 50s and nights in the 30s for the next week, apparently. The asparagus is starting to sprout and it's time to get peas in the ground. I have seedlings in the greenhouse. There are two litters of kits romping around the rabbit colony. The world is full of promise.

People around here called a late spring snow "fertilizer" because things would suddenly seem so green after the snow melted. Here's to a successful spring for you!

Beautiful. We had a late snow here in north central AL, too. It's always pretty, and nice to know it won't last long. I love your blog.

Are you going to be going with the three sister's method again this year?

Love your blog!

Leslie, it really does turn everything bright green! I can see why they call it fertilizer. Hope your Spring is successful in your neck of the woods too :)

Ilex, there's something about it, isn't there? Juxtaposition of life and death, I imagine.

Suzanne - wow! If snow is as rare in your neck of the woods as it is in Atlanta, I bet you guys enjoyed the late surprise.

Mary, I am indeed going with the three sisters again. I have made a few changes. I will blog about it soon but basically I'm putting the corn in rows (not mounds), and I'm sticking to field corn.

We had scenes like that around the Midwest a few weeks ago too.

Leslie -
Googling the 3 Sisters volcanoes in the image search. Wandered into your old post about corn, squash, and beans.

You really should join my experiment :

Hello! Thanks so much...I found your blog through a hit on an old post, thanks to you I have identified the flea beetle as what is attacking my potato plants. The pic you posted of the damage was more like mine than any other out there. Now I am headed out to look for them :) Nice blog, too!
